Our houses and workshops come to life with many volunteers dressed in Christmas costumes and period attire, giving you an insight into how people lived and worked in the old days. An experience that will take you back in time.

Christmas market with gifts and crafts (10:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Our Christmas market offers a treasure trove of Advent and Christmas gifts, decorations, and fine craftsmanship. Find the perfect gifts for your loved ones and create beautiful memories.

Christmas exhibitions in the old historic houses
Step into the past and explore our old houses, beautifully decorated for Christmas. Several homes feature special Christmas ornaments. Here, you can experience how Christmas has been celebrated throughout the ages and learn, for example, when the Advent wreath and Christmas tree became part of our traditions.

Animal slaughtering in the traditional way
Our butchers demonstrate how pigs and sheep were slaughtered in the past, so the meat and other parts of the animals could be used for the Christmas dinner. Guests are allowed to get up close and experience the animals being killed and then slaughtered.

Christmas treats and festive atmosphere at the grocer and bakery
Enjoy the most delightful Christmas treats at our bakery and grocer, where the air is filled with the scent of caramelized sugar. Taste traditional Christmas goodies and get into the true Christmas spirit. Be sure to also visit Restaurant Skyttegaarden, which will be open.

Horse-drawn carriage rides and steam train rides
Take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage or on the steam train and experience the museum and Christmas landscape in a magical way. An unforgettable journey for the whole family. Purchase a wristband that grants access to both the horse-drawn carriage and the steam train, as well as something delicious from the restaurant.
